A comprehensive internal platform for a logistics team, built for real-time oversight and management of an entire vehicle fleet.

The main dashboard displays six KPI cards (fleet size, active routes, vehicles waiting, maintenance, active drivers, average capacity), an interactive Mapbox dark-themed map with GPS positions of all active trucks, and a scrollable list of all shipments with status badges.

The fleet tracking page supports switching between grid and list views with advanced filters by logistics partner and vehicle status. Grid cards display custom SVG illustrations for each vehicle type (semi-truck, box truck, delivery van), a fuel level indicator bar, ETA, route, driver and model name — all at a consistent card height for a clean overview.

The shipment detail page uses a two-column layout: on the left, a capacity visualization with a load indicator rendered inside the trailer SVG and a Mapbox route map zoomed to the actual coordinates; on the right, a cargo manifest with color-coded type icons and cargo photo reports with timestamped images. Additional tabs cover vehicle data, documents, company details and billing.

The chat module provides real-time communication with drivers — text messages, location sharing and quick-reply templates. Each conversation is linked to a specific vehicle and shipment for full context.

The partners page lists all logistics partners with contact details, active contracts, assigned vehicle counts and delivery history. Filtering by contract status and region.

The requests module consolidates truck assignments, cargo requests, repair orders, driver management and report generation. Cargo requests include type, weight, dimensions and priority level. Repairs are logged with fault category, cost estimate and duration. Reports generate weekly and monthly summaries filterable by vehicle or partner.

The drivers page shows each driver's profile with license type, certifications, assigned vehicles, trip history and performance ratings.

The history module logs all past shipments with search by date, partner, driver or vehicle — including trip duration, distance covered and delivery status.

The analytics module includes six trending KPIs with comparison indicators, an area chart of monthly deliveries with on-time breakdowns, a donut chart of fleet utilization, a weekly fuel consumption bar chart, revenue by partner, mileage by vehicle type, and a maintenance incident breakdown.

Challenge

The logistics team was managing 10+ trucks of different types across the US, with no centralized view of locations, load capacity, fuel status, routes and maintenance. Driver communication happened through separate channels, cargo and repair information was scattered across spreadsheets, and partner management was manual and opaque.

Solution

A Next.js web application with a dark-themed interface, built with Mapbox integration for live GPS maps, custom SVG truck illustrations with capacity overlays, a Recharts library for interactive analytics, built-in chat for driver communication, partner and request management modules, and shadcn/ui components for a consistent design across the entire platform.

Results

A polished logistics platform with 12+ modules — dashboard, fleet tracking, shipment detail, driver chat, partner management, cargo and repair requests, driver profiles, trip history and analytics — fully production-ready.
